Celebrating Melvin Franklin's Birthday

Happy birthday to the legendary bass vocalist of The Temptations, and uncle of Rick James, Melvin Franklin.

In 1982, when the Temptations were getting back together for their Motown return album “Reunion”, Rick produced and featured on the hit single “Standing on Top” that became a chart-topping track. Rick also had his uncle Melvin and the Temptations of ‘81 as background vocalists for “Super Freak” marking two standout collaborations between the uncle and nephew duo.
